Panthers send 2 players to Amerks
(September 27, 2007) Forward Stefan Meyer and defenseman Martin Lojek will be reassigned to the Rochester Americans by the Florida Panthers.
Lojek blossomed into a solid defenseman last season. He bounced between the AHL and ECHL as a rookie but was one of the more consistent defensemen until suffering a season-ending shoulder injury on the final weekend.
Meyer was chosen Amerks rookie of the year by the booster club in 2005-06 but struggled to find a role last year.
The Amerks play their only home preseason game on Friday, hosting the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7:35 p.m. at the ESL Sports Centre. Tickets are $8.
