The Florida Panthers have reported that Rory Fitzpatrick is not at their training camp as he recovers from a pulled groin he suffered skating in Rochester last week.
Last season he was out of the lineup in from December 7th through January 3rd while he recovered from surgery to report a torn meniscus in his right knee. He missed a total of 12 games during that span.
Rory also missed the last 12 games of the season when he went out of the lineup on March 18th through April 11th for season ending surgery to repair a sports hernia.
He also missed three games (10/24-10/26) and two games (2/21-2/22) with injuries.
That sure does paint a great picture for Fitzpatrick heading into the season. When Fitzpatrick was in the lineup he was consistent on the ice, even if he wasn’t the fastest. If he remains healthy he’ll continue to be an asset to a young defense on the ice.
