As the preseason slowly winds down it also means more and more roster cuts as the days go on. After the Florida Panthers loss to the Montreal Canadians on Monday night the Panthers sent Mike Duco, Evgeny Dadonov, Michal Repik and Scott Timmins to the Rochester Americans. You could also say they were cut from the roster.
Again, no real surprises. Dadonov and Repik have shown they have some speed and scoring touches but not to the point yet of earning a full time roster spot. Mike Duco fought Ryan White twice during the game but it apparently wasn’t enough to keep him on the roster any longer. Scott Timmins was planned for Rochester the whole time.
Under the category of “not really paying attention,” it appears as if Carl Hudson hasn’t even put skates on yet in training camp. According to Kevin O at Hockey O-Zone Hudson was told to check out and not allowed near the practice facilities. Sounds like an interesting story brewing!
One player still with the Panthers that could be on their opening night roster is Kenndal McArdle. With two surgically repaired shoulders McArdle plays with grit, speed, isn’t afraid to hit someone and can also handle the puck very well.
We’ll see if any of the above players make it to Amerks training camp in the morning. Keep an eye on twitter.com/LetsGoAmerks for instant updates and quick bits of news. You don’t have to sign up for Twitter, just bookmark the page!
