The day after Thanksgiving Amerks game is usually a busy one with a lot of people in from out of town and also many people having the day off from work. Â This Friday the Amerks are going to have a teddy bear toss during the first intermission with all of the stuff animals being donated to the Ronald McDonald House. Â The “teddy bear toss” is a tradition at many minor league hockey games and they always look like fun and they also go to a great cause.
Bring a teddy bear to the box office and get any available seat in the building for $12. Â This Friday you can also park in the Civic Center parking garage for $5. Â You can also get $2 beers during the happy hour from 6:30 – 7:30pm. Â Some great deals after you’ve spent all your money shopping!
Fans that donate a Teddy Bear will also be entered into a raffle for an Amerks autographed team stick. About Ronald McDonald House: Ronald McDonald House Charities operates two Ronald McDonald Houses in Rochester. The “main†House is located on Westmoreland Drive and can accommodate 20 families. The “House within the Hospital†is located inside Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong, and can accommodate seven families. Studies show that keeping families close by can help children heal faster and have better outcomes. The nurturing environment found at both of our Rochester Ronald McDonald Houses preserves a sense of normalcy with home-cooked meals, comfortable beds and space to relax. Enabling families to focus on the health of their child rather than anything else – paying bills, cooking meals or cleaning house – benefits everyone.
