The Buffalo Sabres have called up Corey Tropp for their game tonight against the Boston Bruins. Â Tropp has scored three goals in the last seven games with the Amerks and also assisted on six other goals. Â Tropp only needs two more points in the AHL to get to 200 career points. Â Tropp scored two great backhanded goals on Wednesday night against the Hershey Bears.
Tropp is likely called up to fill in for Brad Boyes who was injured mid way through the third period on Tuesday.
The move opens up a spot in the lineup for Evan Rankin who has missed 23 games out since December 27 with a concussion. Â Rankin was one of the Amerks best scorers before he was injured and he’ll be a great asset if he can come right back and play like he was.
