ECHL Player Of The Week, Kevin Baker, Joins The Amerks
Right Winger, Kevin Baker, has been recalled by the Rochester Americans. Baker was just named ECHL’s Player Of The Week. If he can transfer to the AHL well, Kevin has a real chance to make a big difference for the Amerks. Bakers numbers this year are great. He has tallied 25 points in just 15 games, …

Shawn Matthias Recalled By Panthers
Shawn Matthias has been recalled by the Florida Panthers. Although Shawn hasn’t been playing exceptionally well with the Amerks, he also hasn’t had much talent on his wings to help him at all. Shawn has played all 19 games with the Amerks this season but only has 4 points (3 goals, 1 assist). Shawn likes …

Luke Beaverson Reassigned to the Everblades
Luke Beaverson has been reassigned to the Florida Everblades (ECHL) by the Panthers. Beaverson couldn’t quite cut it as a defenseman on a team with little to show in the defense department. He did play a few games in Rochester as a forward. In eight games played with the Amerks, Luke talled just one assist.
Jacob MicFlikier Sent to Everblades
Jacob MicFlikier was reassigned to the Florida Everblades for the weekend after last night’s game. There were a few injuries to the ‘Blades in last night’s game and since the Amerks don’t have a game until Wednesday night, they are loaning Jacob for the rest of the weekend. Expect him to be back with Rochester …

Amerks Continue Their Losing Streak…Lose To Manchester
The Amerks put up a good fight, but couldn’t get past the Manchester Monarchs tonight. They lost 4-2 to the Manchester Monarchs in a hard fought game. Chris Beckford-Tseu started the night in goal even though I would have liked to see Shantz in from the beginning. Chris was pulled in the first period after …

Practice 11-20-2008: The Red Army Leaves
“What’d you think of the game last night?” The first thing Benoit says to the team when he gets on the ice. “Now it’s over, behind us…tomorrow, it’s different. Forget about last night, work hard. Do not think about last night, it’s over. Now we practice hard and work for tomorrow.” Karl Stewart, Janis Sprukts …

Practice 11-18-2008: We Have A Veteran That Needs To Get On The Ice
Why in the world isn’t Jason Cipolla on the ice for the Amerks? I watch him practice at least twice a week with the boys and I always wonder why he doesn’t still play. He is barely older then Rory Fitzpatrick and it’s time to suit up. When he is doing skating drills with players, …

Close But No Cigar…4-3 Loss To Bulldogs.
The Amerks started out well tonight against the Bulldogs. I drank a lot at the game so I may not be awesome at this post game tonight. Amerks pulled ahead 2-1 after the first period with goals from Sprutks and Duco. Stefan Meyer scored in the 2nd period where the Amerks ended the period tied …

Amerks Weren't Thrown to the Wolves…Pick Up One Point
For some reason, no matter how bad the Amerks are. They can always get a point or two out of the defending Calder Cup champions. Tonight was no exception. Although in real life the Amerks won this game 4-2…the score the officials gave them was a 3-2 shootout loss. The officiating tonight made me want …

Gameday 11-14-2008: Amerks Host Chicago Wolves
Tonight, the Amerks finish their six game home stand against the defending Calder Cup champions, the Chicago Wolves. The Wolves have only let in 20 goals in their first 13 games…so, this is not going to be an easy task tonight. Rory Fitzpatrick, Kenndal McArdle and Janis Sprukts are not on the ice right now. The guys …

Practice 11-13-2008: Happy Birthday Jason Garrison
It’s Jason Garrison’s 24th birthday today…so, happy birthday to him. He was also named the Morgan Stanley Player of the Month for October yesterday. So, congratulations and happy birthday. Stefan Meyer, Tanner Glass and Mike Caruso are all on the ice practicing today. Whatever was ailing Meyer yesterday seems to have healed itself fairly quickly. …

Practice 11-12-2008: The Shantz Is Back
David Shantz has made his return to the Rochester Americans. For me, he is a sight for sore eyes. He has been playing well in Dayton this season. He played seven games there, getting four wins, with one shutout and an overtime loss. He has a 2.35 goals against average and a .914 save percentage …
