Amerks Open Training Camp With A Scrimmage
The Rochester Americans opened the 2009 training camp getting right to the point, playing hockey! There was not any skating, passing, or shooting drills. The players got on the ice, skated a few laps and went right into playing a scrimmage. It feels like a it was only a few weeks ago that the Rochester …

The players still with the Panthers are Mike Duco, Jeff Taffe, Alexander Salak, Michal Repik, and Shawn Matthias. Chances …

Florida Panthers Rookie Camp Opens Today
The Florida Panthers open their rookie camp on this morning down in Florida at Incredible ICE, but I prefer to call it the warm up to Amerks training camp on September 24th! A number of players were in Rochester this past week prior to heading down to Florida including David Brine who tossed out the …

Evgeni Dadonov Not Yet Ready
Evgeni Dadonov was drafted in the 3rd round (71st overall) of the 2007 draft by the Florida Panthers and has been a player that a few people have kept an eye on as a future star. Dadonov was one player I continued to miss while at the Teen Ranch at the Panthers Development Camp so …

Rochester Americans Begin A New Season
The start of the 2009 Florida Panthers Development Camp earlier in the week was essentially the start of a new season for a lot of players that will play for the Rochester Americans in the fall. Just about every player had taken time off since the season ended in mid April by either going on …

The Rochester Americans defeated the Toronto Marlies in overtime on Wednesday night by the final score of 5-4. Randal Gelech scored the game winning goal at 1:53 in overtime, assisted by Stefan Meyer. Due to other commitments (sons hockey practice), I didn’t get the chance to watch or listen to the game, so here’s the …

Strong Effort by Amerks not Enough to defeat Crunch
The Syracuse Crunch are undefeated at home this season against the Rochester Americans and continued that streak on Saturday night with a 3-2 win in front of 6,117 fans at the War Memorial. Unlike previous contests between the two teams in Syracuse the Amerks put in a solid effort on the ice. The Crunch scored …

Alexandre Picard Hat Trick Leads Crunch to Victory
(Syracuse, NY) The Rochester Americans have successfully extended their losing streak to eight games with tonights 5-2 loss against the Syracuse Crunch. Alexandre Picard scored a hat trick to lead the Crunch to victory. This team has not won a game since March 1st when they defeated the Binghamton Senators 3-2. Entering the month of March it appeared as if the Amerks were going to end the season on a high note, instead they’ve spent the month putting together the worst losing streak of the season.
Amerks vs Moose Gameday Skate; Matt Duffy from University of Maine
Typically game day skates are optional and a majority of the time everyone is on the ice, except for today. Missing from the ice is Drew Larman, Dan Collins, Mike Caruso, Rory Fitzpatrick, Karl Stewart, and Michal Repik. Fitzpatrick isn’t expected to play tonight which would explain his absence. The Amerks will have a new …

Three Short Hand Goals Not Enough for Win
The Amerks managed to score three short handed goals tonight against the Hamilton Bulldogs and all it got them was a point in an eventual shootout loss. The short handed goals were scored by Kenndal McArdle, Drew Larman, and David Brine. The Bulldogs goaltender Cedric Desjardins deserves an assist on McArdles first goal. I’m really …
