Miguel Beaudry packed his equipment after the game when he was told thanks for being the backup and that he was being released from the Rochester Americans. He’ll be on his way back to Rapid City to spend the summer. Beaudry was called up on April 2nd when the Amerks needed a backup due to …

Amerks Call up Goaltender Miguel Beaudry
The Rochester Americans have called up goaltender Miguel Beaudry from the Rapid City Rush of the Central Hockey League. Apparently my April Fools Day post wasn’t that far fetched, except they went with someone other than Chris Beckford-Tseu. The 26 year old goaltender finished this season in the CHL with a 16-20-6 record with a …

Updates on Brodeur, Plante, and Glass
If Franklin MacDonald gets another crack at a shootout the next move he may pull off is spinning around, skating backwards with his back to the goalie, and then at the last minute spinning around again to get a shot off. It’s become normal for the team to practice shootouts at the end and while …

Plante Possibly Done; Duffy to the Blades; Team Photo Giveaway
Tyler Plante is possibly done for the season with a shoulder injury. With only six games left in the season chances are David Shantz will be riding out the rest of the season in an Amerks uniform. His shoulder had been bothering him for a few weeks, sounds as if it’s caught up to him. …

David Shantz arrived at Broome County arena less than a half hour before face off, started the game, and stopped 50 of 52 shots prior to the Amerks losing in the shootout against the Binghamton Senators. Jason Garrison Leads Amerks to Shootout Win
The defensive duo of Jason Garrison and Matt Duffy led the Rochester Americans to a shootout win on Wednesday night against the Albany River Rats at Blue Cross Arena. Jason Garrison scored two goals, his first two goal game, and Matt Duffy playing in his first American Hockey League game assisted on both of Garrisons goals. Karl Stewart scored at 16:42 of the third period to tie the game at three. Brett Parnham, playing in his second AHL game, scored the first goal in the shootout along with Janis Sprukts and Karl Stewart to lead the Amerks to a win.
Alexandre Picard Hat Trick Leads Crunch to Victory
(Syracuse, NY) The Rochester Americans have successfully extended their losing streak to eight games with tonights 5-2 loss against the Syracuse Crunch. Alexandre Picard scored a hat trick to lead the Crunch to victory. This team has not won a game since March 1st when they defeated the Binghamton Senators 3-2. Entering the month of March it appeared as if the Amerks were going to end the season on a high note, instead they’ve spent the month putting together the worst losing streak of the season.
Cory Schneider Defeats Amerks in Shootout
The Rochester Americans lost to the Mantioba Moose on Wednesday night in a shootout and have extended their winless streak to seven games. It wasn’t a bad game by any means. The officiating was questionable, but not the deciding factor. Mike Keane won the game in the seventh round of the shootout beating Amerks goaltender Mike Brodeur.
The Manitoba Moose have the best record in the American Hockey League. The Rochester Americans are second worst in the league. Games like this make you question whether the other team was having a bad night, or if the Amerks really do have the potential to be a contender next season.
Amerks Injury Update
Even with the warm weather outside it was freezing cold as usual inside of the ESL Centre in Henrietta this morning where both the Amerks and Manitoba Moose practiced in preparation for Wednesday nights game. The Amerks are hoping to end a six game skid against the Moose, a team they’ve been beaten twice and …

Duco Scores First but Marlies Go on to Win
If there was one team I wish the Amerks didn’t have to play against again this season it would be the Toronto Marlies. The Amerks were out played again on Friday night and defeated by the final score of 4-2. The Amerks scored first when Drew Larman shot the puck from the side boards, was …
